Breakfast is the most important meal of the Day!
I am lending you my own recipe that I enjoy eating most mornings. It is a low-calorie meal with a high protein punch that gets you moving and keeps you from getting hungry.
Keri’s Super Protein Punch Oatmeal
¾ cup Rolled Oats- Oat have 5 grams of protein per serving and 5 grams of fiber. It also contains 10% of your daily value of iron!
1 tsp. Cinnamon- Cinnamon has natural antioxidant effects, see Dr. Singh’s Blog about the health benefits of cinnamon HERE.
1 Packet Stevia- a natural sweetener for added sweetness.
¼ cup Blueberries- they have a very low glycemic index which means that it doesn’t spike your blood sugar. They also contain Vitamin C and add bursting fruit flavor bites!
1 tsp. Maca Powder- good for hormone balance among other things.
1 tbsp. Hemp Hearts- these contain no sugar and add a whopping 10 grams of protein per serving!
1 ½ Cups Water- bring to boil, add oats and the rest of the ingredients, cook for 10-20 minutes depending on the consistency that you desire.
You can add many different types of fruits or nuts. Sometimes I add banana, this gives it a delicious banana bread flavor.
Let me know how you like it!
